On September 3, a grand military parade was held in Tiananmen Square in Beijing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairperson of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech and reviewed the participating troops.
At 9:00 am, the ceremony began with 80 salutes resounding through the sky. Then, the national flag guards escorted the Five-starred Red Flag to the flag raising area, and the military band played the national anthem. After that, President Xi Jinping delivered a speech, emphasizing that the purpose of commemorating this great victory is to remember history, cherish peace, and create a better future.

The military parade started at 9:15 am. President Xi Jinping reviewed 45 square (echelon) teams, including 13 foot formations, 1 battle flag formation, and 22 equipment formations, in a Hongqi inspection vehicle. The inspected troops were in neat formation and high spirits. At 9:44 am, the air escort echelon took the lead in appearing, kicking off the parade. A total of more than 10,000 inspected officers and soldiers, hundreds of sets of ground equipment, and more than 100 warplanes were organized into 45 square (echelon) teams, solemnly accepting the review of the motherland and the people. Most of the weapons and equipment on display were domestically produced and in active service, and most of them made their debut for the first time, fully demonstrating the new look of the people's army in the new era.
